MESSAGE OF THE HEAD TEACHER

Mr. Willy Mayiga

I am Willy Mayega the current Headteacher of Masaka Town College. I extend my sincere salutations to all our esteemed members of the BOG, the PTA Executive, the fellow administrators, staff, parents, sponsors, guardians, old students and the continuing learners plus any well-wishers that it is you who make us who we’re as MATCO.

Honestly, had it not been the wisdom and courage of the proprietor of this college, counsel Magellan Kazibwe, we would not be having this treasure. We applaud him for this noble investment and his continued support for its sustenance.

MATCO, is a well-known secondary school with a vision, a mission, culture, goals and core values that distinguish it from others and define its existence. It is a registered modern, mixed, day and boarding “O” and ”A” level school with a UNEB centre located on its own land with essential facilities and a track record and history of producing several professionals in various disciplines. It has a good will and a lot of support from the community.

As the head of the college’s administration; I know truly that we provide a balanced curriculum that entails the academics and non-academic skills intended to produce an all-round learner. We have a fire brand team of qualified, dynamic, vibrant, well-motivated and competent staff that impart the correct and approved services to all our learners without any reservations. We identify, nurture and develop every child’s talent and potential, be it in class work in terms of actual knowledge consumption, debates or public speaking, quiz, music, dance, drama, sports and religious characters. We strive to develop it to the highest level so that a learner benefits greatly. We have very many testimonies from our old students whom we made great persons to day.

Throughout the last 20 (twenty) years and more, MATCO has proved to the public that it is a unique and standard secondary school that should be trusted by every parent, guardian or sponsor. That is why we receive many applications for vacancies in senior one to six every year. We are now expanding our facilities to give our learners much better services.

MESSAGE OF THE DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER

Mr. Moses Kitayimbwa

I am called Moses Kitayimbwa the current Deputy Headteacher of Masaka Town College. I am a graduate secondary teacher teaching Economics and History.

Foremost, MATCO is a unique secondary school with the most organized leadership hierarchy. On top of the school management is a very strong team of the BOG comprising of highly educated, experienced and exposed professionals, political and religious leaders, business persons, directors and administrators of different successful schools, parents’ and the old students’ representatives. This BOG offers top to bottom regular mentorship, supervision, monitoring, guidance and evaluation. The next layer includes the highly educated, exposed and dynamic director counsel Magellan Kazibwe. He regularly provides the highly needed on spot direction, control, monitoring, supervision and guidance to all the administrators and staff. Then below him is the Headteacher and myself who superintend and lead in the day-to-day operations of our college.

Additionally, MATCO’s staff is carefully selected. We work with qualified, competent, vibrant and ethical teachers from the recognizable universities in Uganda. These teachers are regularly given on job training by the BOG partly through retooling workshops and bench marking with the old successful secondary schools. These have made us offer contemporary and quality teaching services to our learners.

Historically, our college has offered great opportunities to many bright, talented but needy learners whom we give fees discounts. These brilliant and talented learners are given adequate attention to enable them excel and create stiff competition amongst their peers. Resultantly, the school benefits from excellent performance of those learners thereby increasing enrolment.

In the field of sciences, our college is one of the best science destinations in the region. We have modern and well-organized science facilities, equipment, materials and resources. Our science students are taught practically. They’re given chances to conduct experiments on their own. Those several experiments lead to perfection hence high grades. No wonder, MATCO has in the last 20 years produced very many scientists including doctors, engineers, architects, surveyors, meteologist, lab technologists, computer scientists and others.

Noteworthy, we offer holistic education. The college is very well known to offer the balanced curriculum. We tirelessly look for, discover, nurture and promote the learners’ special talents at the same time promote their academic potentials. It is not surprising, at our college to find the best footballer or netballer or debater at the same time to be the leading learner in academics

We conduct a lot of counseling and guidance. We organize many sessions to speak to our learners, groom, guide and advise thereby combating indiscipline and immoral behaviour. To this end, our learners are very obedient, and disciplined. They portray attractive image of disciplined learners for which we’re proud.

My humble appeal is to you our dear parents, sponsors and guardians is to entrust us more with your children in senior one to six. We assure you of the best products at the end of senior six. We’re always available for open discussions. Our doors are widely open to welcome you warmly. MESSAGE OF THE BURSAR

Ms. Mariam Namatovu

I am Mariam Namatovu, the Bursar of Masaka Town College. I am a graduate of BBA and also hold an MBA. I specialized in accounting. I’ve been the bursar of Matco for long. I have sufficient experience, exposure and understanding in the handling of the financial affairs of a secondary school and specifically those of parents, sponsors, guardians and learners.

The essential function of the bursar is to handle all the financial affairs of the school. In this regard, we use the professionally approved prudent accounting systems that can give the most efficient results in financial management to the satisfaction of all the stake holders.

Moreso, we apply the up to date contemporary corporate governance principles and that rhyme with the accounting standards. At our college, we charge the most affordable school fees to all our learners with flexible payment terms. We also encourage face to face interactions and negotiations with parents, sponsors, guardians and learners.

We handle all our our parents, sponsors, guardians and learners as customers. For us a customer is the enginee of a business. With our efficient communication skills, all our customers praise us for being friendly, flexible, polite, understanding and humble yet we mean business at all times. In our college, we don’t disclose the financial secrets of any customer. We treasure confidentiality. This has been extremely applauded by our customers over the past several years.

MESSAGE OF THE ASSISTANT BURSAR

Ms. Aisha Nambatya

I am called Aisha Nambatya, the Assistant Bursar of the mighty Masaka Town College. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Finance. I’ve been consistently serving our college for a long time. I’m very familiar with the nature of our parents, sponsors, guardians and learners.

In the execution of my duties, I closely work and assist the Bursar to prepare the necessary financial data, collect fees and other requirements. I constantly liase, communicate with our customers and handle their financial issues on a day to day basis. As the finance team, we offer exceptional customer care, hospitality, listening, understanding and quick feed backs. We also invite and sit with our parents, sponsors and guardians to discuss openly their financial issues. We keep such discussions private and confidential.

Concerning payments, we use the system of the learner’s pay code where all moneys are deposited on every learner’s personal code and reach the school bank accounts. We do not encourage cash payments for any item at school. We don’t usually send back home learners with fees arrears but through regular polite communications with their parents, sponsors and guardians, we cause the settlement of fees in full before the end of the term.

Sincerely speaking, in terms of fees payments, Matco charges the most affordable fees to but provides quality, modern and satisfactory services ranging from academics, sports, debates, exhibitions and meals, to mention but a few. The school has a weekly balanced diet menu. Every day has its own meals. We also offer very delicious meals on the special days at school such as Eid, Easter, Martyrs Day, Independence Day, School Day and on the Visitation Day.

More still, the college is well known for offering discounts on fees to the very bright and highly talented learners.
