In the establishment of Masaka Town College, I was stimulated by the enormous desire to make a remarkable contribution to the transformation of our community of the then Masaka municipality and its environs through unprecedented quality secondary education. Prior to the establishment, I had personally engineered and conducted extensive research which revealed the dire insatiable need for a model and unique secondary school that could absorb the surging numbers of secondary school entrants within the localities of  Butego, Bugabira, Nyendo, Kimaanya, Katwe and their neighbouring suburbs. There was also a surprisingly high failure rate in many old government owned and aided secondary schools within the then municipality that high enrolment which had to be remedied by the emergence of a model secondary school, hence the conception of  MATCO.

Steadily aroused, driven and propelled by above factors, I mobilized relatively substantial savings, acquired land at Kirumba “A” Cell, Butego Ward, Nyendo-Mukugwe Division, Masaka City, embarked on the construction of magnificent infrastructure on a well planned serene and conducive education campus, hence the birth of MATCO.

I personally and my pioneer staff engaged in extensive marketing and mobilization of learners from and within the entire Masaka municipality and beyond. We officially registered the school as a college because we intended to offer a unique hybrid of conventional approved secondary curriculum as well as the practical vocational skilling to produce an all round holistic learner. The Ministry of Education & Sports was convinced and granted us a college status albeit not plainly.
